24 November 2013: ICT-1 Daily Summary – Abdus Sobhan, Pre-Trial; Mobarak Hossain, Cross examination of PW-12

Today the Tribunal heard matters in the following cases:

  1. Chief Prosecutor vs. Abdus Sobhan
  2. Chief Prosecutor vs. Mobarak Hossain

Prosecutor vs. Abdus Sobhan

In the case against Abdus Sobhan, today was set for further hearing on charge matters. The Defense placed their submission for discharging the Accused Abdus Sobhan from the proposed charges brought against him. Thereafter, the Tribunal set 18 December 2013 for passing an Order on charge matters.

Prosecutor vs. Mobarak Hossain

In the case against Mobarak Hossain, the Defense cross-examined the investigation officer Shyamol Chowdhury, as Prosecution Witness 12. Thereafter, the Tribunal adjourned the proceedings of the case until tomorrow, 25 November 2013. Continue reading

21 November 2013: ICT-1 Daily Summary – Zahid Hossain Khokon, PW-1, PW-2, and PW-3

Today the Tribunal heard matters in the following case:

  1. Chief Prosecutor vs. Zahid Hossain Khokon

In the case against Zahid Hossain Khokon, the Tribunal recorded testimony from Abul Kashem, Prosecution Witness 1, Kanai Lal Mondol, Prosecution Witness 2, and Iqram Mollah, Prosecution Witness 3. The state-appointed Defense Counsel subsequently cross-examined the witnesses. Thereafter, the Tribunal adjourned the proceedings of the case until 26 November 2013.  Continue reading

20 November 2013: ICT-2 Daily Summary – AKM Yusuf, PW-8 and PW-9

Today the Tribunal heard matters in the following case:

  1. Chief Prosecutor vs. AKM Yusuf

Continuing from where proceedings left off 18 December 2013, ICT-2 completed recording the cross-examination of PW-8 in the case against AKM Yusuf. It then recorded the examination-in-chief of PW-9 and adjourned the case until 24 November 2013.  Continue reading

20 November 2013: ICT-1 Daily Summary – Motiur Rahman Nizami, Closing Arguments; Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Contempt Proceedings

Today the Tribunal heard matters in the following cases:

  1. Chief Prosecutor vs. Motiur Rahman Nizami
  2. Chief Prosecutor vs. Khandaker Mahbub Hossain                                       

In the case of Motiur Rahman Nizami, today the Prosecution made rebuttal arguments and the Tribunal closed the summing up.

In the contempt proceedings against Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, a reply was submitted on behalf of Khandakar Mahbub Hossain. Thereafter, the Tribunal adjourned the proceedings of the case until 24 December 2013.  Continue reading
